Charlie brings over 30 years of investment experience to his role as Senior Vice President and Director of Avalon’s Portland, Oregon office. Over the years, Charlie has crafted strategies for clients, articulating individual priorities in order to meet personal goals. Clients appreciate his ability to translate complex financial scenarios into understandable and actionable plans.

Prior to joining Avalon, Charlie was the CEO of Dobson Asset Management, a Portland based investment advisory firm that served individuals, families and businesses throughout the Northwest for more than twenty years. Charlie earned his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1991, and has studied at San Diego State University and The College of Financial Planning in Denver.

Charlie is an active contributor to the Portland community, serving on the Investment Committee of Friends of the Children-Portland, I Have a Dream-Oregon, The Children’s Institute, Western Institute of Nursing, The Carolyn Foundation and the Beaverton Rotary Foundation. Charlie is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Beaverton and the Beaverton Rotary Foundation.
